Questions on partners narravtive

Name of Reviewed Individual: Harrison Cohan

1. What are the strengths of your partner’s essay? Why?

I thought Harry did a good job of describing his vaction. He never repeated the same adjective twice so every expierence he descibed was new and not just a repeat of the last one.

2. What areas could use improvements? In other words, what suggestions can you give
your partner that will help his/her paper improve?

The only advice i would give Harry is to proof read his narravtive again. Just to make sure that all spelling and grammar errors are resolved before his final submition.

3. What is your favorite literary device used in your partner’s essay?

Harry used a lot of good similies and metaphors. My favorite was were he said his grandparents were "as calm as a cucumber"

4. What is the part of the paper that stands out as the most "catchy" or important?

the most important part of his essay i thought was the endong were he states that the good events in your life out weigh the bad ones.

this post is the answers to the questions that were asked about my narrative

Do you recall sights, sounds, smells, tactile feelings, and tastes? Use actual or re-created dialogue?

I do recall many of the sights smells and expierences i had durign the trip i dont use to much dialogue though.

Do you grow from change? Is there a conflict between characters? Is there a contrast between the past and the present?

I like to think i grow from change. But in the narrative there is no conflict between characters and it does not contrast with the past or the present it was just a great time i had one time.

How relevant is the event today? How relevant will it be in your future?

This event is relevent to me today because i feel that it mellowed me out. Before the trip i can remember i was a little more up tight and anxious but after the trip everything jelled, now i feel more relaxed and i think in the future i will continue to be relaxed. dont worry be happy

Hellen Keller Questions

  • Answer the following:
    1. What did you think of this narrative?
    2. What was most interesting or engaging about it?
    3. What surprised you?
    4. Did this change your outlook on Helen Keller at all? Why or why not?
    5. Copy and paste three examples of vivid detail and imagery that helped enhance the story
    6. How can a narrative be more engaging than something like a biography? Why is it important to get someone's personal perspective?
    7. Make a bulltted lists of some things you could write a narrative about

    1. I thought this narative was sad but also uplifting. i thought it was sad because this little girl is deaf and blind and at the same time its uplifting because she accomlished so much with her life despite being deaf and blind.

    2. What i thought was most interesting was the teaching method Hellens teacher used with her. I would have no idea where to start in teaching a child, much less a deaf and blind one.

    3. What suprised about this story is that Hellen Keller is the author. It shows how far she actually came despite her handicaps.

    4. This story gives me more respect for Hellen Keller. Before all i knew about her was that she was deaf and blind. Now i know that she could read and write also.

    5. 1) Have you ever been at sea in a dense fog, when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in, and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore with plummet and sounding-line, and you waited with beating heart for something to happen?

    2) We walked down the path to the well-house, attracted by the fragrance of the honeysuckle with which it was covered. Some one was drawing water and my teacher placed my hand under the spout.

    3) On entering the door I remembered the doll I had broken. I felt my way to the hearth and picked up the pieces. I tried vainly to put them together. Then my eyes filled with tears; for I realized what I had done, and for the first time I felt repentance and sorrow.

    6. A narative is more engaging than a biography because it gives more perspective and detail. I feel it is important to get someones perspective in a narative especially if the narrative is about them because after all it is their story so it woudn't do them justice if it came from someone else.

    7.

      my life
    a trip i have taken
a powerful event in my life
    a wrestling match
